Christmas Meet, 30 Dec 2007

Megan Gilchrist and Alena Popchanka travelled to Spain for the Christmas Meet in San Sebastian. The meet is a 1 day competition, with the 50's and 100's only. Last year Gregor Tait and Kris Gilchrist were also invited to this International event.

In final, Megan race to a victory in the 100 IM, with a new CES record in 1:05.99. She also came 5th in the 50 free final, and 4th in the 100 free final.

Alena won the 50 free and 100 free in the times of 25.43 and 54.33, and came second in the 100 fly in 59.40 behind European champion Inge Deker.

Both swimmers are back with CES on Monday the 31st. Alena will take part in a 1 month altitude camp in France later in January, and Megan will race her next short course meet in Glasgow during the Scottish Nationals.
