Following their morning training session, the CES squad took part in the morning heats of the 2008 East District Championships.

Alena Popchanka posted a 2:00.89 to win the 200 freestyle heats, and Gregor Tait swam 4:02.87 to take the title in the 400 freestyle.

Iain MacMillan took a special challenge in the 400 freestyle and swam it butterfly, finishing in a strong 4:28.73. A first for Iain who's main focus this summer is the Tri Nation meet in Quebec.

James Thompson raced in the heat a personal best in the 100 backstroke, in 1:02.04, while Kris Gilchrist won the 50 breaststroke heats in 29.35
