Fast trio, 28 Apr 2007
Stage 1 meet, Loughborough, 26th to 28th of April, 2007.
Gregor Tait won the skins of the 50 backstroke in a time of 24.87, ahead of Matt Clay from Swansea. "it was a tough meet as the 50's were a skin format, and this morning I had to race the 200 freestyle final, race immediately after the first leg of the 50 backstroke skin, as well as the skin of the 50 fly. I only swam down after 3 events, but I did a massive personal best in my 200 freestyle and swimming under 25 in the 50 back is always a good sign".
Kris Gilchrist finished third in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:01.04, just behind James Gibson and Chris Cook. He came third behind the same men in the 50 breaststroke, in 28.60, a time just 0.10 shy of his best. Kris swam a personal best in the 100 freestyle.
Rob Lang finished third in the 200 freestyle, in 1:49.05, behind Dave Carry and Ross Davenport. He also swam the skins of the 50 fly (and did 3 personal best times but didn't make it to the final) as well as the skins of the 50 freestyle.
In the meantime, World Championship silver medallist Kirsty Balfour is attending the Splash Award dinner in London. CES is looking forward to Kirsty's return in the pool after a nose operation.
