Canet, 8 Jun 2007
CES arrived in Canet on the 02nd of June for a 24 days training camp, including the Mare Nostrum meets in Canet and Barcelona.
The meet in Canet starts tomorrow, the 09th of June, and will be the first competition for CES since the world championships in Melbourne and the ASA championships in Manchester.
World silver medalist Kirsty Balfour will be the only swimmer from CES not competing in Canet, in order to remain focus on her training.
After hurting her shoulder in a training camp in L'borough, Kirsty and her coach Fred Vergnoux decided that she should train only and avoid any injury risk at the first leg of the Mare Nostrum in Canet.
"Kirsty didn't miss any training session because of her shoulder, which is great, but we want to stay away from a potential risk during this meet. She has to train for the whole summer, so we will look into Scottish Nationals at the end of June for her return in a competition"
